In a solemn tribute to the victims of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) observed a minute's silence before the IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings at Eden Gardens on Saturday. The customary ringing of the iconic Eden bell was also skipped as a mark of respect.

CAB president Snehasish Ganguly, secretary Naresh Ojha, treasurer Prabir Chakrabarty, joint secretary Debabrata Das, and other officials were present for the occasion. Former Australia cricketer and Punjab Kings assistant coach Brad Haddin also joined the tribute.

The tragic attack in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday claimed the lives of 26 people, most of them tourists, and left several others injured.
After the tribute, Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bat first. PBKS made two changes to their lineup, bringing in Glenn Maxwell and Azmatullah Omarzai for Marcus Stoinis and Xavier Bartlett. Kolkata Knight Riders also reshuffled their team, including Rovman Powell and Chetan Sakariya in place of Moeen Ali and Ramandeep Singh.
